A 1979 graduate of Mahtomedi High School, family and friends honor Ron and his contributions to the Mahtomedi community through this scholarship in his name.  Ron D. Appleman is remembered by family, friends, and classmates as a student who was active in athletics, theatre, journalism, and service to those less fortunate.  Ron was a mentor to many - leading through example by showing acceptance of all at each of their abilities.  Mahtomedi students in financial need and with similar traits will be awarded the scholarship.  Ron also realized the importance of academics and higher education, and as such, consideration to those with a 3.0 GPA or above will be given.
