MAEF Board Committees

The Mahtomedi Area Educational Foundation depends upon a community of dedicated volunteers to conduct organizational business. Much of our work is done on a committee level. Committees are comprised of board members and community members with a passion for the committee's work. Committee meetings are held throughout the year. Committees include:

Development Committee - Oversees development and implementation of the Development Plan that incorporates a number of fundraising strategies by identifying and soliciting funds from external sources of support. Mara Winke, Chair

  • Fall Fund Drive Committee - The Fall Fun Drive Committee ensures planful, strategic fundraising, and leadership for the annual donor appeal to parents, community, and staff. Mara Winke, Chair

  • Zephyr Get Together Committee - Plans, coordinates, and carries out the fall Zephyr Get Together. Meagan Ratnayake, Chair

  • Zephyr Gala Committee - Plans, coordinates, and carries out the annual Zephyr Gala. Kate Krampe, Past Chair/Online Auction

  • Community Engagement Committee - responsible for organizing special events and implementing strategies to raise awareness about MAEF in our community. Kate Krampe, Chair

  • Alumni Committee - Works to increase communication and alumni involvement in MAEF events, fundraising, board, and/or committee participation. Chris George, Chair

Executive Committee - The Executive Committee provides leadership to the entire Board, ensuring that the Board as a whole achieves its objectives and priorities, acting with authority to represent the full Board between Board meetings in support of the strategic plan as established by the Board. Finance/Investment Committee - The Finance/Investment Committee provides oversight, guidance and support to the financial, tax and investment practices of the organization, including approval and conformance regarding up-to-date fiscal and investment policies and procedures; development of the annual budget; and ensuring accurate tracking and analysis of financial highlights, trends and issues. Also ensures conformance to relevant financial and tax rules and regulations. In conjunction with the investment team, it develops the investment policy and oversees the management of the organizational investments. Grants Committee - The Grants Committee evaluates and recommends the disbursement of grant money for MAEF classroom grants, Hansen Inspired Teacher grants, and Oliver’s Fund grant requests. Andrea Lampland, Chair & Shawn Bromeland, Co-Chair

Hill Award - Promotes, identifies, and selects the annual Hill Award recipient in cooperation with the White Bear Area Education Foundation and the Century College Foundation. David Bennett, MAEF Representative

Nominating Committee - Identifies needed board member skills, recruits and interviews potential members, and identifies candidates for executive board positions. Barbara White, Chair

Scholarships Committee - The Scholarships Committee provides leadership to the post-secondary scholarship program and evaluates and awards scholarships to graduating seniors. Jessica Domin, Chair

Sponsorships Committee  - The Sponsorships Committee provides leadership and is responsible for evaluating requests from organizations and other initiatives that support the basic needs of students and families in the district. Suzanne Wisniewski, Chair

Wildwood Artist Series  - This committee is responsible for planning and coordinating the Wildwood Artist Series concerts held throughout the year.
